We are pleased to announce several new speakers who will join us and make remarks at the 2018 National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast & Conference!
House Speaker Paul Ryan is the 54th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Now serving his tenth term in the House, he represents Wisconsin’s First Congressional District. Paul, his wife, Janna, and their three children, Liza, Charlie, and Sam, live in Janesville, Wisconsin. Find his full biography here.
Senator Chuck Schumer is the senior U.S. Senator from New York and the Senate Democratic Leader. In 1998, Chuck was elected to the U.S. Senate; he became New York’s senior senator when Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan retired in 2000. In 2016, Chuck was once again re-elected by the people of New York and at the same time, his colleagues elected him to serve as Leader of the Democratic Caucus, the first time a New York Senator has held the position. Senator Tim Scott has served the state of South Carolina in the U.S. Senate since 2013 and was re-elected in January 2017. He brings with him a mission to positively affect the lives of a billion people with the message of hope and opportunity. Prior to public service, Tim built a successful small business of his own. He was first elected to Charleston County Council, to the South Carolina State House, and the U.S. House of Representatives. Read his full biography here.
Jaime Lizárraga serves as Senior Adviser to House Democratic Leader, Nancy Pelosi, covering immigration, banking and financial markets, housing, Puerto Rico, and Latino community outreach. His public service career spans more than 27 years, having previously served on the staff of the House Financial Services Committee, and in appointed positions at the U.S. Treasury and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He earned a bachelor’s degree with high honors from the University of California, San Diego (1988), and a master’s degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT Austin (1990).
